According to optimal type, there are three types of optimisation problems:

1. Minimisation optimisation problems

According to the objective and constraint format, there are

  1. Linear Programming. Linear Programming Problems consist of a linear expression for the objective functions and linear equality and inequality constraints.

  2. Quadratic Programming. Quadratics programming problems involve optimize a multivariate quadratic objective function subject to linear equality and inequality constraints

  3. Nonliear Programming

  4. Nonliear Least-Squares

  5. Multiobjective Optimization is concerned with the minimization / maximization of multiple objective functions that are subject to a set of constraints.
